Breeders of Irish Terriers From Champion Lines

Upcoming Litters:

December 21, 2024.

Our Beautiful, Exuberant young lady, Roisin (GCH Kincora's Rising of the Moon) has been bred to a great boy, Red (Legacy Sunstorm), (sweet tempered, gentleman, but an Irish temperament, typy) Breeding was on December 7, so we should have little ones around February 3.

The last litter of this breeding had such precious puppies. Three boys and a girl.  The boys went to Nova Scotia, Quebec, and Washington State, close by us.  The girl has become a much loved member of our kennel.

Ultrasound looks great for 4 or 5 puppies. Right now mom is quiet and snugly.  She looks so happy and content to my eyes. She is also on the lookout for any tasty bits of food that might be around.

X Rays show 5 little puppies.  We asked our vet what sex they were (yes, we know it doesn't work that way), and she said, Oh, that one is a male, and has a very outgoing personality, and that one...)  Very fun.

February 2, 2025

Roisin's temperature has dropped from 100.4 to 99.0.  Looks like puppies are coming very soon.  Total anxiety for Bruce (me), but this is something we have done many times before.  Hattie is really good at births.

February 4, 2025

Roisin has given birth to 5 fabulous little boys.  That was a lot of hard work, but no rest now.  It is around the clock feeding and cleaning her little puppies.  She eats so much and drinks so much now.

February 12, 2025

Puppies are thriving, and so is Roisin.  The puppies have gone from 7 or 8 Ounces at birth to well over 1 pound, and they do look so much bigger.  They spend most of the time sleeping, a fair amount of time nursing, and doing a little exploring, crawling around and sometimes getting out of the little bumper bed, into the welping box.  Soon we will have to take the bumper bed out, and leave them in the bigger welping box.  Would you like to see them?  Look for Roisin Litter 2 on You Tube.

February 17, 2025

The little ones are growing bigger and eyes are opening.  They seem to be getting more energetic and active.  Food and Sleep are still their favorite things.

breeding fine Irish Terriers

Kincora Irish Terriers, LLC has been breeding fine Irish Terriers since 2006. We acquired our first dog in 1996 and began showing in 1997. The terrier’s call name was Cormac, and he came from a very old breeding line developed by Robert “Bobby” Clyde. At nine months of age, Cormac took Reserve Best of Breed at Sacramento.

About Irish Terriers

This breed is the known Irish farm dog. The Irish Terrier is a medium-sized dog of exceptional intelligence, keen senses, and personalities that range from thoughtful to exuberant.

Our Line’s Foundation

Excellent health, strong bodies, and solid temperaments are not usually an accident of nature. Careful study and great effort go into choosing the right parents to breed forward desirable traits. Our foundation bitch traces back to Bobby's "Cocksure" line. These dogs have heavier bones and shorter faces. Even today, they are recognized by some knowledgeable Irish Terrier enthusiasts as descendants of the Cocksure line.

Our Dogs

We have been following the American Kennel Club’s (AKC) standards for the Irish Terrier breed since 1997. Our focus is to create a long-standing heritage of sweet and healthy Irish Terriers with a friendly temperament that is solidly built. At this time, all our adult females are AKC Champions, and all our males are either AKC Champions or Grand Champions.

Our Puppies

The pups we raise receive Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) exercises from day 3 to 17 of life. These exercises were developed by the US military to produce well-grounded temperaments in their dogs. Our puppies are wormed and receive age-appropriate shots. At eight weeks, we do formal photos to analyze conformation, and we test the pups for temperament. When available, this involves an independent test team.

Unless we feel that we can expect our puppies to be better than their parents, we will not breed. To date, we have been pleased with the outcome.
